X link attribution

New on the Growth plan: find which tweet actually drove your X-referred traffic and revenue, instead of one anonymous x.com referrer row.

A tweet sends you a wave of traffic, but your Referrer breakdown just shows "x.com" — X strips which tweet it came from before your dashboard ever sees the click. X link attribution closes that gap.

Under Settings → Mentions, turning this on has us search X every half hour for tweets linking to your domain. When a visitor's first-ever visit came from X, we match it to the most recently-posted tweet we found linking to your site shortly beforehand, and attribute their traffic and revenue to it on the new Tweets tab. Traffic that doesn't match any tweet shows up as its own "Unattributed" row rather than being dropped.

An estimate, not a guarantee

X's link wrapper carries no tweet ID, so there's no way to know for certain which tweet caused a given click — this is a best-effort match based on timing, and every number on the Tweets tab is labeled as an estimate. If you want an exact match instead, tag the links you post with a ?ref= or UTM parameter and check the Campaign tab.

Availability

X link attribution is part of the Growth plan. Like brand mentions, X coverage is roughly the last seven days of posts, so a tweet older than that when you first switch it on won't be picked up.

What shipped

  • NewX link attribution (Growth plan): X routes every posted link through t.co, so your Referrer breakdown normally shows one anonymous "x.com" row no matter how many different tweets sent that traffic. Turn this on and we look for tweets linking to your site, then estimate which one drove each visit — surfaced on a new Tweets tab next to Source, Referrer, and Campaign, with visitors, views, and revenue per tweet. Turn it on under Settings → Mentions.
  • NewPublic AI crawler & bot directory: a new page at /crawlers lists every AI assistant, AI training crawler, search engine, SEO tool, and link-preview bot we recognize automatically, grouped by purpose, with each one's verification method and robots.txt behavior — a quick way to check what's covered before you dig into a site's own bot traffic breakdown.
  • NewSee who's online right now straight from your dashboard overview: a live "online now" count sits next to your visitor total in the header, and each site's card carries its own live badge linking to that site's live map — no need to open it just to check.
  • NewThe tracking snippet now automatically records when a visitor leaves a page and how long they spent on it — no code change beyond the snippet you've already installed. It shows up as a new "page_leave" entry in your Goals breakdown and visitor activity feed.
