Terms of Service
Last updated: August 31, 2026
1. Overview
ShonyLabs Analytics ("ShonyLabs", "we", "us") is a web analytics platform operated by ShonyLabs. These Terms govern your use of the ShonyLabs dashboard, tracking snippet, and APIs (the "Service"). By creating an account or embedding a ShonyLabs tracking snippet on your website, you agree to these Terms.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for activity that occurs under it. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API keys confidential.
3. Trial and subscriptions
New accounts start with a 14-day free trial with no card required. Paid subscriptions are billed through our payment processor, Dodo Payments, monthly or yearly in advance. If your trial ends and you have not started a paid subscription — or a subscription lapses, is canceled, or a renewal payment fails and is not resolved within a short grace period — dashboard access is suspended and you are directed to the billing page to choose a plan.
A suspended account is not deleted. Your sites, settings, and previously collected analytics data are retained, and the tracking snippet keeps accepting events, so nothing is lost while access is suspended — subscribing restores full dashboard access to that data. You can delete individual sites or your entire account at any time from your settings; account deletion permanently removes all of your sites and their data and cannot be undone.
4. Events and plan limits
An "event" is any data point recorded by the ShonyLabs tracking snippet or API (a pageview, custom goal, identify call, or transaction). Usage is aggregated across all websites connected to your account. If you exceed your plan's monthly event allowance, tracking continues uninterrupted and your dashboard remains fully readable — we do not throttle ingestion or drop events for going over. We may contact you to move to a plan that fits your volume, and persistent, significant overages may require an upgrade to keep using the Service.
5. Websites and team members
The number of websites you can connect and team members you can invite per site is determined by your plan. See pricing for current limits.
6. Data collection
The ShonyLabs tracking snippet collects technical and behavioral data about visitors to your website — such as page URLs, referrers, approximate location, device/browser type, and (with the default, cookie-based snippet) a persistent visitor identifier stored in a cookie and localStorage. It does not collect visitor names, email addresses, or other directly identifying information unless you explicitly pass that data yourself via the identify API. See our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement for details.
7. Cookies, consent, and your obligations as data controller
When you use ShonyLabs to track your own website's visitors, you are the data controller for that visitor data, and ShonyLabs acts as your data processor (see the DPA). You are responsible for:
- Determining whether your use of the tracking snippet requires visitor consent (e.g. a cookie banner) under the laws that apply to your visitors, and obtaining that consent where required.
- Maintaining an accurate privacy policy on your own website.
- Responding to data subject requests (access, deletion, etc.) from your own visitors, using the tools ShonyLabs provides (see exclusionsand your dashboard's visitor tools) or by contacting us at [email protected].
We offer a cookieless tracking snippetthat stores nothing on a visitor's device, for sites that prefer to avoid a consent banner at the cost of some tracking accuracy — see that page for the trade-offs.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to track websites you do not own or have authorization to track, to collect sensitive personal data (health, financial account numbers, government IDs, etc.) via custom event properties, or in any way that violates applicable law.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to the address on your account. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict of law principles, and the competent courts of Israel have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
